PPMA asked The Harris Poll to conduct an online survey to find out how many American homeowners used professional pest control services in the past year. The poll data consisted of 592 homeowners ages 18+ and found nearly half of them with an income of $75K+ (48%) have used licensed pest control professional services in the past year. Interestingly, spiders were the second biggest reasoning for homeowners purchasing pest control services, ants being the number one reason. 33% of the homeowners that participated in the online survey called a licensed pest control professional for spiders (41% for ants). What’s more, our AI findings for the month of November also found that homeowner sightings of spiders in backyards, garages/sheds, and basements increased by 91%, 44%, and 32%, respectively as people spend more time in their homes as a result of the pandemic.
